Course Expectations for Chorus
I. Participation/Attendance Policy
a. Students are not allowed to be absent from rehearsals or performances without parental consent. All excuses must be submitted in written form to Ms. Rondael at least three (3) days before the anticipated absence or one (1) week after the unanticipated absence.
b. In order to participate in Chorus, all students must maintain a B average or above. Students who fall
below this average will be put on academic probation for three weeks whereby status as a chorister will be discerned by Ms. Rondael, your homeroom teacher, and the Principal.
II. Materials
Each student will be provided with copies of the music they will be singing. They are responsible for
bringing:
a. one (1) black one inch (1") binder,
b. one (1) hole-punched notebook,
c. and one (1) sharpened or mechanical pencil.
These materials will be brought to every rehearsal and performance and count towards the students'
participation credit.
III. Dress Code
Students will comply with the uniform dress code set forth by the school in the Student's Manual.
Performances will be classified as Uniform or Non Uniform depending on the formality of the occasion.
a. Uniform Dress Code
For events that require formal dress, students will wear:
1. Black closed toe shoes
2. Black socks or stockings, black pants or skirts. All skirts must fall below the knee at its shortest.
3. All students will wear clean white tops with sleeves that do not cut too low or fall above the belt. Blouses and button down shirts and polo shirts are acceptable. T-shirts are prohibited.
b. Non Uniform Dress Code
For events that require casual dress, students may wear:
1. Denim pants or skirts and sneakers provided they are clean and without holes or tears.
2. All students will wear clean white tops following the formal dress non uniform dress code.
IV. Assignments/Permissions Slips
All assignments and Permission Slips will be posted for your benefit. If you lose an assignment or form,
copies of everything distributed to you can be found on the Important Information(link) page as a file you can download and print.
V. Calendars
All important dates including all rehearsals, performances, and appearances will be posted on the Important Information(link) page as a file you can download and print.
